The premiere of "The Clone Wars," a Star Wars 3-D animated movie begins today in movie theaters. The movie will kick off the start of a new television series set to air later this year on the Cartoon Network.
As with the older "Clone Wars" series, which was shown in between the releases of "Attack of the Clones" and "Revenge of the Sith," the new movie and series will cover the era of the Clone Wars, when the Galactic Republic was split in two and the galaxy-spanning nation was at war with itself. Specifically covered will be Anakin Skywalker and his padawan Ahsoka Tano, along with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda, and familiar (for Star Wars fans) villains Asajj Ventress and Count Dooku.
